Clarke Hits Four for Darlington - Ipswich Town News

On-loan Town striker Billy Clarke scored four times as his Darlington side thrashed Macclesfield 6-0 at Moss Rose. The Irishman netted in the 26th, 53rd, 64th and 67th minutes as the Quakers ran riot.

The first came from a cross, the second was a superb 30-yarder, the third a penalty after Jon Walters's former Chester strike partner Gregg Blundell had been felled leading to the sending off of Macclesfield skipper Sean Hessey and the fourth a tap-in.

Clarke has now scored five goals in six games for Darlington, with whom he is on loan until January.

Alan Lee made his Crystal Palace debut as a half-time sub and crossed the ball for Tom Soares to score the Eagles' second goal.

Chris Casement was an unused sub as his loan club Hamilton Academical lost 2-1 at home to Hearts. The Northern Irishman is with the SPL side until January.

Matt Richards was in action for his loan side Brighton as they drew 0-0 with Leyton Orient, while Dan Harding and Southend lost 5-2 at Walsall.
