Jim: Stead Adds Something Different - Ipswich Town News
Boss Jim Magilton says new loan signing Jon Stead will bring something different to the squad and will add to the competition for places amongst the strike force.
Stead is with the Blues until January with the Blues and Sheffield United having agreed a fee believed to be £600,000 if the move becomes a permanent switch.
Magilton told the club site: "Jon will bring some extra qualities to our squad and we are delighted to have him with us.
"He has played and scored goals at Premier League level and I'm sure if we give him the ammunition, he will score goals for us.
"Jon coming in will add to the competition for places in attack and we need that all over the park if we are to progress."
Stead, whose Blades deal is up next summer, was at Playford Road this morning to undergo his medical. The 25-year-old is likely to make his debut for the Blues against Reading a week on Saturday.
