Middlesbrough's Johnson: A Loan is an Option - Ipswich Town News

Middlesbrough left winger Adam Johnson says he knows nothing of Town's reported interest in him, but admits he could soon go out on a loan spell. The Blues are believed to want Johnson on an emergency loan basis, although Boro are keen for the England U21 international to remain at the Riverside.

Johnson said: "There are so many rumours about me going out on loan. I think I have been mentioned with every single Championship team, but I haven't heard anything so far.

"I just have to get on with it, obviously a loan is going to be an option for me this season again, so we'll just see in the next few weeks if anything happens."

Earlier in the week, Middlesbrough assistant boss Malcolm Crosby said the club wanted to keep Johnson on Teesside even though his chances are likely to be limited with Stewart Downing ahead of him in the pecking order.

The player himself has said on a number of occasions that he is frustrated with his lack of opportunities with Boro.
