Jim on Rhodes's Rochdale Switch - Ipswich Town News
Boss Jim Magilton says striker Jordan Rhodes will benefit from joining League Two side Rochdale for a month. Rhodes signed his short-term deal with Dale earlier today and is set to make his debut at Rotherham's Don Valley Stadium on Saturday.
Magilton told the club site: "We have let Jordan go out on loan for a month. When the opportunity came up, he was happy to say yes and we are happy for him to go, but it's only for a month at this stage.
"He benefited from his loan spell at Oxford [last season] and going to Rochdale will allow him to play first team football week-in, week-out, which can only be good for his long-term progress here."
Rhodes is likely to stay with his father Andy while with Rochdale, the former Town keeper-coach having moved into a flat in the North-West part-time since joining the staff at Preston North End earlier in the season.
