Reason Set for York as Aussie Due for Trial - Ipswich Town News
Midfielder Jai Reason is set to join Blue Square Premier side York City on trial with a view to a loan. Reason, 18, will play a reserve game for the Minstermen in which he will look to impress boss Colin Walker.
Town already have Ed Upson with a Blue Square side, but the midfielder has made only a single brief appearance for Stevenage and may be recalled.
Meanwhile, Town, Blackburn and West Ham are set to give a trial to 16-year-old Australian striker Joe Gibbs later this month.
Gibbs, who currently plays for Manly United, has won the annually awarded Lucas Neill Scholarship, the West Ham skipper having played with Manly when a youngster.
TWTD understands the academy also recently took a look at two Maltese youngsters as the club continues to look widely for new recruits to its youth set-up.
