Bruce in Reserves Facing Wycombe - Ipswich Town News

Centre-half Alex Bruce will start this evening's reserve game at home to Wycombe Wanderers (KO 7pm). Bruce has served his three-match first team ban for his red card against Wolves last month, but is short on match fitness.

Boss Jim Magilton told the club site: "Alex needs games after being out for a few weeks, so that is why he's in the reserves.

"He was perhaps a shade unlucky against Wolves because his tackling throughout that game was first class, but now he has to wait for his chance again and take it when it comes along.

"It's possible that one or two of the players in action tonight could travel to Southampton tomorrow as well to join up with the rest of the squad."

Dean Bowditch, Tommy Smith and Jaime Peters are also in line to face the Chairboys.

Further to the first team match preview, as has been pointed out, Ben Thatcher wasn't involved on Saturday as is erroneously claimed in the opening paragraph.
