Jim Pleased With Performance - Ipswich Town News

Boss Jim Magilton was pleased with his side's performance in the 0-0 draw with Sheffield Wednesday. David Norris came closest to scoring for the Blues when he hit the bar late on.

Magilton said: "We knew there was going to be a backlash after what happened to them on Tuesday night [6-0 defeat to Reading] but I thought we dominated the game and their keeper had to make three great saves.

"I thought we were very good and if we continue to play like that, we'll win more than we lose.

"Confidence is building and I think self-belief is growing. After a sluggish start to the season, we've started to play some decent stuff.

"We had the chances to have won the game and of course I wanted the three points but we'll take the one and move on."

Wednesday manager Brian Laws was pleased his side put the 6-0 defeat behind them: "It was important that we bounced back and the fact that we got a clean sheet showed the character that's within the team.

"In the first half I thought we were the better team and should have gone in a goal up, but as the game stretched out they started getting on top.

"The performance wasn't brilliant but I'm happy with a point. We've got to erase the result at Reading from our memories and move on from here."

Laws was particularly pleased with keeper Lee Grant: "Lee made a fantastic save and it's a point gained because of that. I think I've got one of the best keepers in the division."

Further to the match report, Pablo Couñago missed out due to an ankle injury sustained in Friday training.
