Town's reserves drew 0-0 with Northampton at Sixfields this afternoon. Ed Upson, just back from his curtailed loan spell at Stevenage, came closest to scoring when he hit the post.
Northampton also hit the woodwork late on when a corner came off Shane Supple and struck the bar, but overall there were few chances at either end. Left-back Kurt Robinson was probably the pick of the Town team.
Academy coach Gerard Nash took up a central defensive role with Pim Balkestein and Tommy Smith both injured at present.
Reserves: Supple, Clemo, Robinson, Nash, Hyam, Watson, Reason, Upson (Lambe 66), Peters, Bowditch, Haynes (Murphy 61). Unused: Ainsley, Ward, Daniels.
