Icelandic Duo on Trial - Ipswich Town News
TWTD understands that Town have taken Icelandic pair Brynjar Gauti Gudjonsson and Brynjar Kristmundsson on trial. The highly-rated U17 internationals have spent the week training at Playford Road.
The duo are currently with Vikingur Olafsvik, who play in the second tier of Icelandic football, and have already broken into their first team.
Central defender Gudjonsson, who captains his nation's U17 team, has played seven times for his club's senior side, while right winger or striker Kristmundsson has made four full appearances.
Town have looked at a number of Icelandic youngsters over the years with midfielder Björn Orri Hermannsson and keeper Ã"skar Pétursson joining the academy as full-time scholars in the summer of 2005. Neither made an impact and returned home in 2006 and 2007 respectively.
