Academy Claim Double Derby Victory - Ipswich Town News
Town's U18s ran out 3-2 winners over Norwich City at the Canaries' Colney training ground on Saturday morning. Paul Murphy, who was later sent off, Ronan Murray and Reggie Lambe netted the Blues' goals.
Murphy put the Blues in front in the 12th minute with a shot from outside the area which gave the goalkeeper no chance.
Fellow Irishman Murray added the second four minutes later when he beat the keeper when through one-on-one.
Bermuda international Reggie Lambe tapped in Town's third just before the half hour with the Blues appearing to be cantering to a comfortable victory.
However, on 47 Tom Adeyemi pulled one back for the home side, then on the hour Murphy was red-carded for a two-footed challenge.
The latter stages saw the Canaries come back into the game and pull a second goal back through Kris Renton with eight minutes remaining, but the Blues hung on to claim the three points.
Town's U16s also claimed a derby victory on Norfolk soil, running out 2-0 winners.
U18s: Ward, Clemo, Ainsley, Hyam, Dunbar, Lambe (Eastman 80), Daniels, Cawley, Griffiths, Murray, Murphy. Unused: Stensrud, Brandon, Ralph.
