Robson Receives Good News - Ipswich Town News

Legendary Town manager Sir Bobby Robson has received good news as he fights cancer for the fifth time. Robson's tumour on his lung has shrunk recently due to treatment.

The ex-England boss says he has sent a message of goodwill to golfer Seve Ballesteros, who is in hospital having undergone surgery on a brain tumour: "Seve is a big Barcelona fan and when I was manager there, I met him a couple of times when he came to matches.

"He had a lot of charisma and I was moved to send him an email of support last week when I heard his sad news.

"All I can say to Seve is to keep on fighting and everyone's prayers are with him. Every case is different, I know, but I'm still fighting 15 years after my first diagnosis.

"My latest scan has shown my tumour has shrunk after treatment, which I'm obviously extremely delighted about. I hope Seve can receive similarly good news.”

In August, Robson admitted that his latest battle with the disease would be his last: "I have accepted what they have told me and I am determined to make the most of what time I have left.

"I am going to die sooner rather than later. But then everyone has to go some time and I have enjoyed every minute.”
