Town and Cardiff Watching Welsh Youngster - Ipswich Town News
Town and Cardiff City are keeping an eye on Haverfordwest County striker Jack Christopher, according to reports in Wales. The 21-year-old has scored eight goals in 10 Welsh Premier League appearances this season.
Christopher, who has already spent three days training with Cardiff, came through the youth system at Haverfordwest and in 2006 he captained the side as they won the MacWhirter Youth Cup.
His manager Derek Brazil says Christopher could go a long way: "Jack is a promising young player with great potential. He has started the new season well, scoring nine goals so far [in all competitions].â€Â
The 6ft 2in tall striker made his senior debut in 2004/05 and last season became a regular, scoring 17 goals in 25 league games. A part-timer, Christopher also works as a landscape gardener.
The Tenby-born frontman, contracted to his club until 2012, is regarded as a natural goalscorer and is widely tipped to move on to a higher level than Welsh Premier Division football at some stage.
Elsewhere, Portsmouth's David Nugent, a long-time loan target of Town, is being linked with a move to Bolton in January. Nugent was mentioned in connection with a loan switch to QPR last week, but prior to Iain Dowie's sacking.
