Walters Signs New Deal - Ipswich Town News
Town have announced that striker Jon Walters has signed a new contract aimed at keeping him with the Blues until 2012. The former Chester man previously signed an extension to 2011 in January.
Boss Jim Magilton told the club site that he was pleased to secure the 25-year-old on longer terms: "We're delighted that Jon has agreed to new contract. There was a lot of speculation about his future during the summer but we made it clear that we wanted him at this football club.
"There were Premier League clubs showing an interest in him but we have always seen him as an important part of what we are building here."
