Walters Delighted With New Deal - Ipswich Town News

Jon Walters says he is delighted to have signed a contract extension which will keep him with the Blues until 2012. Walters put pen to paper on the new deal earlier in the week.

Stoke and another unnamed Premier League side made enquiries regarding Walters during the transfer window, but the former Chester man told the club site that promotion with Town is his aim: "I'm delighted to have signed a new deal and now I want to help get this club into the Premier League.

"That was always my target when I first came here and nothing has changed.

"We have got a good squad of players here and there is no reason why we can't be in the chase for the top six places come the end of the season."
