Stewart Fit for Monday - Ipswich Town News

TWTD is hearing rumours that Marcus Stewart may well be fit for Monday's game with Manchester City. He is apparently rated as a 70% chance and may return to training on Sunday.

Stewart strained his thigh during last Monday's game with Charlton and earlier in the week said he would be very surprised if he made it. The situation appears to have improved since then.

We've been sent more information on Thorstein Helstad by Norwegian TWTD reader Sture Auren.

Sture says of the striker who has been linked to Town: "He was last season's top scorer in the Norwegian league, and has a fantastic scoring record from the few games he has played for the national team. There is great competition for places up front with him challenging Tore André Flo, Ole Gunnar Solskjær and John

Carew (Valencia) amongst others.

He seems to be a serious guy, silent, good brain, and a football talent! He is very quick, making defenders going crazy. And he is extremely calm in front of goal, often scoring with the inside of his feet. He is pretty right-footed, not very dangerous with his left foot. And he is tall and is good in the air."

Hermann Hreidarsson has said he is after a hat-trick on Monday in the live Sky game with Manchester City. The full-back is yet to score at Portman Road, although he did put one past City at Maine Road earlier this season.

The hugely popular Icelander said: "If there was any justice I’d get a hat-trick." referring to the incident against Bradford where he thought he had scored only for Mark Burchill to have got a touch. Hreidarsson, unaware of Burchill's contribution, dived into the crowd to celebrate. Now he says: "I’ve had the celebration, now I want the goal for real."

Carlo Nash watch out.

Fans of Craig Forrest may like to know that there is currently a once in a lifetime opportunity to purchase a pair of the former Town keeper's pants. Forrest left Town in 1997 and times are clearly hard.
