Magilton Welcomes Thatcher's Return - Ipswich Town News
Boss Jim Magilton has welcomed full-back Ben Thatcher's return to fitness, but says the former Charlton man will have to win back his place in the first team. Thatcher picked up a torn thigh muscle in late September but returned to reserves action earlier in the week.
Magilton told the club site: "It's good news for Ben and for us and he trained very well today without any problems.
"It's good to have him back. He's very chirpy and has settled into the dressing room very well. He's one of the characters.
"The back four have done well lately though, and Ben's going to have to be patient and wait for his chance to come along."
Ex-Wales international Thatcher played the full 90 minutes for the reserves on Monday as they drew 1-1 with Charlton, the club he left on a free transfer in the summer.
