Jim Admits Hermann Interest - Ipswich Town News

Boss Jim Magilton says that he would be interested to talk to former Blue Hermann Hreidarsson regarding a return to Portman Road.

Hreidarsson is out of favour with Portsmouth at present and was linked with Town, Charlton and West Brom by a national newspaper last week.

Magilton said: "Hermann is a terrific pro and a tremendous character. He was outstanding for us and someone who could help and use his quality around the football club, but first I would need to know he is not thinking of retiring.”

Hreidarsson's agent has told the Icelandic press that his player will leave Pompey in January, but his destination is not yet clear.

With Town understood to be closing in on re-signing Darren Ambrose and Tommy Miller, Richard Wright and Pablo Couñago also at the club, Hreidarsson would find himself amongst plenty of team-mates from his previous spell with the Blues if he was to return.
