Jim Confirms Ambrose Deal Imminent - Ipswich Town News

Town boss Jim Magilton has confirmed that former midfielder Darren Ambrose is set to sign on loan today, as first revealed by TWTD on Saturday. Magilton was initially reported to have been interested in bringing the former England U21 international back to the club in November last year.

Magilton said: "The paperwork has not yet been signed but we are very close to agreeing a loan deal with Charlton for Darren.

"We are hoping he will be with the club Monday morning and will be with us initially on loan until January.”

We understand that Town will pay a loan fee for the 24-year-old, who is out of contract with the Addicks at the end of the season, with a permanent deal already agreed for January.

TWTD broke the news of Ambrose's impending return on the Message Board during Saturday's 1-0 victory at Blackpool.
