Four in International Action - Ipswich Town News

Town have four players away on international duty this week. Veliche Shumulikoski and Alex Bruce are with the Macedonian and Republic of Ireland full squads, while Chris Casement is with Northern Ireland's U21s and academy striker Paul Murphy is with the Republic of Ireland's U19s.

Casement is first in action on Tuesday when his side take on Scotland at Hamilton, the club where the defender is currently on loan (Sky Sports One, 7.30pm). Casement was again left out of the 18 as the Accies lost 2-1 at home to Celtic on Sunday.

The 20-year-old, who has won 12 U21 caps, scoring one goal, will end his loan with the SPL club at the end of December when he is likely to be sent on another spell elsewhere.

Veliche Shumulikoski is in the Macedonia squad for their friendly in Podgorica, Montenegro on Wednesday, while Alex Bruce is in the Republic of Ireland party which faces Poland at Croke Park, also on Wednesday (Sky Sports Two, 7.30pm).

Academy striker Paul Murphy is with the Republic of Ireland U19 squad which is travelling to Malta today for their UEFA Championship first qualifying phase games.

The Irish youngsters take on the hosts on Friday, Liechtenstein on Sunday and France on the following Wednesday. Murphy has previously been capped twice at U19 level.

Town skipper Gareth McAuley withdrew from the full Northern Ireland squad over the weekend due to the hamstring problem which forced him out of the Blues' trip to Doncaster.

The central defender has undergone a scan which showed that there is no tear, but he is considered a doubt for next Saturday's home game with Derby County.
