Town, Plymouth and MK Dons Linked With Rehman - Ipswich Town News

Reports in London are linking Town, Plymouth and the MK Dons with QPR defender Zesh Rehman. The 25-year-old is currently on loan with Blackpool until January.

The Birmingham-born Pakistan international started his career with Fulham and won England U17 and U20 caps while at Craven Cottage.

While with the Cottagers he made 26 senior starts and four sub appearances, scoring once. The 6ft 2½in tall central defender also spent time on loan at Brighton and Norwich City before moving permanently to QPR for a fee of around £300,000 in the summer of 2006.

A second loan at Brighton followed in early 2007 and he joined Blackpool on another temporary spell in August, but has made just four substitute appearances so far.

Despite these loans, Rehman has managed to make 43 starts and six sub appearances for QPR.

Rehman opted to play for Pakistan, the country of his father's birth in 2005 and has so far made six international appearances.

A central defender who has also been known to play at centre midfield and right-back, Rehman was the first Pakistan international to play Premier League football and the first Asian player to start a Premier League match.

QPR are reportedly happy to allow Rehman to leave on a free transfer with his contract up in the summer.
