SGR Deal to End Early? - Ipswich Town News
Town's three-year radio commentary deal with SGR could end early, according to a report this morning. In September, SGR was sold to Global Radio with the station set to become Heart FM on January 5th.
When news of the change first broke SGR sources told TWTD that they didn't expect the move to have any effect on the three-year deal for home matches they signed with the club over the summer.
However, Global Radio's deputy head of press John Chittenden is now quoted suggesting that the situation may change in the future: "We will carry on broadcasting home and away for the remainder of this season. If anything changes it will be in agreement with Ipswich Town.â€Â
Town chief executive Derek Bowden told TWTD that the club has held no discussions regarding an early end to the contract: "We've had no contact with Heart or SGR on the subject. We've got a three-year contract.â€Â
