Prutton Link Resurfaces - Ipswich Town News

Town are again being linked with Forest's David Prutton with Newcastle reported to have put themselves out of the race for the England U21 defender. A couple of weeks ago it was reported that Bobby Robson had a bid turned down, now a valuation of £4 million has out them off.

The former Town boss said: "A club in our position cannot afford to pay big money for a kid who might not make it, because we need ready-made players who can come straight into the first team. We are very open-minded when it comes to keeping an eye on youngsters but it's becoming more and more difficult to make a move."

A player like Prutton untried at Premiership level looks an unlikely target for Newcastle at £4 million. Similarly we doubt George Burley would throw as much as this at such an inexperienced player unless he was really confident that he's a Hermann-esque talent.

Forest are £7 million in debt and Prutton is their most saleable asset. Other clubs linked with him include Middlesbroug and Blackburn.

Town fans who failed to get tickets for the Derby game might fancy a slightly different way of watching the game. Stena are emailing Supporters' Club representatives offering a unique way to watch the game.

The press release says: "Stena Line recently made an agreement with the Premier League Organisation to broadcast live Premier League football matches onboard our Stena HSS Discovery Harwich to Hook of Holland. This allows us to show the upcoming Ipswich v. Derby game live on Sat 19th May."

It continues: "The HSS has several bars, restaurants, fast food outlets a cinema and a casino, so it's a great venue for a supporter's trip."
