Sheepshanks Proud of Prince's Trust Link - Ipswich Town News

Chairman David Sheepshanks said today that he was proud that Town had become the first football club to run a Prince's Trust self-development programme. Sheepshanks was speaking during Prince Charles's visit to Portman Road.

Sheepshanks said: "It's the first time the Prince's Trust has set out to make a football club one of its delivery partners, where the courses are run by the club in partnership with the Trust.

"We are proud to be the first. I'm sure other clubs will follow."

Town's Community Trust runs a 12-week course which aims to give young people's confidence a boost by providing them with basic skills and assisting them to look for work.

Prince Charles was also handed a shirt bearing the legend ‘HRH 1' by club captain Richard Naylor and wished the Blues "luck” for Sunday's derby with Norwich City: "I shall be watching from across the border in Norfolk."
