Town Confirm Bruce Appeal - Ipswich Town News
Town have confirmed that they are appealing against Alex Bruce's red card against Bristol City last night. Bruce was sent off on the hour by referee Paul Taylor for a lunge at Robins' striker Nicky Maynard, which led to the striker leaving the field on a stretcher.
The FA may hear the appeal on Friday, although it could happen next week, in which case the Irish international would be available for Saturday's game at home to Cardiff.
If the appeal fails, Bruce will face a four-game ban for his second red card of the season, although it is possible that the FA could impose a further one-match suspension if they deem the appeal frivolous.
