Wright Hoping For Scotland Caps - Ipswich Town News

Full-back David Wright says he would be delighted to play for Scotland if he was given the opportunity. Over the weekend Scotland manager George Burley told a national newspaper that he was aware of Wright's availability.

The Warrington-born player qualifies through his mother's family and told the club site he would love to play for Scotland: "My mum, brother and sister were born in Glasgow so there is a lot of Scottish blood in my family. It would be a great honour if I had the chance to play for Scotland. I'd love it.

"I sent off copies of birth certificate and documents a few years ago to show that I qualified to play for Scotland, but didn't hear anything.

"I'm not sure if that was because the manager at the time didn't want me or if the papers got lost in the system, but I've heard that George Burley knows I qualify and if I get the chance to represent Scotland it would be a massive thrill."

Meanwhile, Town have revealed that tickets for the FA Cup third round tie with Droylsden or Chesterfield on January 3rd will cost £15 for adults, £6 for concessions and £2 for under-16s.
