Marcus Stewart has gone back into light training and looks as if he will be OK for the crunch game with Derby. The Town striker missed out against Mancester City with a thigh problem sustained in the Charlton game.
Stewart was joined in light training by Jim Magilton who picked up a knee problem in the City game, presumably when Paulo Wanchope launched himself at him.
Hermann Hreidarsson who also picked up a knee injury in the City game trained OK this morning.
George Burley described the prescence of the FA Cup final between Town's last two games as "distracting" but added the it "gives us a chance to go away for a few days". Town will not train while they are away in Majorca but will begin again when they return early next week.
Of Town's Champions' League rivals the Town boss said: "Leeds and Liverpool have had wonderful runs. To keep ahead Liverpool have had an extraordinary run. But they've got to go to Charlton and anything is possible."
Burley doesn't think that Liverpool will find the two cup finals next week a distraction: "No, the League has always been their priority."
Of Town's opponents on the pitch he said: "Derby will be determined to go out on a high note. No-one wants to lose their last game at home."
The concequences of the result could be huge for the club: "It could be a very important game for the club and we've got to make sure we get the three points."
Town's players and management are off to Majorca tomorrow.
Keith Branagan went in for his hernia operation today. The keeper will be in hospital for a couple of days. Richard Wright will go in for his op on the Monday after the Derby game.
We've been sent a bit more detail on the opportunity to watch the Derby game from the North Sea. According to Stena: "The HSS Discovery sails from Harwich to the Hook of Holland. Crossing time is 3 hours and 40 minutes."
"The normal return fare for foot passengers is £50 but we have put together a special package for football fans. The fare will be £40 and includes watching the match. The HSS has two cinemas, restaurants, bars, a casino and a shop where prices of alcohol and cigarettes are still significantly cheaper than in the UK."
