Leeds Win Hits Town - Ipswich Town News

Leeds United beat Bradford City 6-1 this afternoon to leave Town needing Leicester and Charlton to do them last day of the season favours. Leeds now have the same points as Town and have a goal difference four superior.

Town need out of form Leicester to come good at Elland Road next Saturday and and gain at least a point while Charlton are required to to continue their own excellent home form against Liverpool and get a win or a draw. It is, of course, imperative that Town beat Derby.

Several Town old boys were action this afternoon as Canvey Island beat Forest Green Rovers 1-0 in the FA Trophy Final. John Kennedy was given the Man of the Match award while Neil Gregory and Adam Tanner were also in action for the Islanders. Stuart Slater was on the other side.

A first half goal from Chenery sealed the win for the side coached by Glenn Pennyfather.
