Brentford to Open Bowditch Talks - Ipswich Town News

Brentford boss Andy Scott has confirmed that he hopes to keep Town striker Dean Bowditch at Griffin Park after the former England U19 international completes his loan spell at the weekend. Bowditch has been with the Bees since October, scoring one goal in seven starts and one sub appearance.

Scott said: "A lot of managers are waiting to see what happens this month and we are no different. We'll be speaking to Ipswich over Dean, but we'll have to see.”

Bowditch, who has mainly played in wide midfield while at Brentford, is out of contract with Town at the end of the season and looks unlikely to be offered new terms.

Meanwhile, Hull City striker Dean Windass is claimed to have turned down the chance to join the Blues, although according to reports elsewhere Town have denied any interested in the 39-year-old.

The Blues' chances of re-signing Hermann Hreidarsson froom Portsmouth look less likely with Celtic reported to have entered the race. The SPL leaders are said to be ready to offer £500,000 for the 34-year-old Icelander.

Town are amongst a host of clubs believed to be monitoring Hreidarsson's situation with Charlton, West Brom, Rangers and Reading also linked.

Elsewhere, former Blue David Geddis is reported to have turned down the offer of the manager's job at Eircom League club Cork City.
