Windass Joins Oldham - Ipswich Town News

Reported Town target Dean Windass has joined League One Oldham on loan until the end of the season. The Blues were linked with the 39-year-old Hull City striker earlier in the week.

According to a report yesterday Town had denied any interest in the former Middlesbrough man, while another source claimed the player had turned down the chance to join the Blues.

Town made no official comment and are planning to stay deliberately tight-lipped during a transfer window in which innumerable players are again likely to be linked with moves to Portman Road.

Elsewhere, Wolves have denied a suggestion by Norwich manager Glenn Roeder that the Midlanders are interested in signing former Canary loanee Leroy Lita, a player the Blues are monitoring.

Roeder suggested that his struggling club might stand more of chance of landing Lita for the rest of the season than clubs at the top end of the division: "If Wolves wanted him - which I think is likely they do â€" it's highly unlikely Steve Coppell is going to allow Leroy to go to Wolves and score goals, which might put Reading in the play-offs instead of automatic promotion.”

Lita, out of contract in the summer, came on as a 76th minute sub for Reading in their 4-0 home victory over Watford on Friday evening and netted the final goal.
