Club captain Richard Naylor has not ruled out turning his loan move to Leeds into a permanent switch. Naylor, whose Town contract is up at the end of the season, joined the Whites, the club he supported as a boy, on a month's loan yesterday.
Naylor said: "It might become permanent, but that is not in my hands. The main thing is I come here and help get the best out of the lads to get some points on the board for Leeds. The rest will take care of itself.
"There are some good players at the club but maybe they are low in confidence. It seems that every little mistake is costing them.
"Maybe a fresh face coming in will rattle a few cages and get the best out of them.â€Â
Meanwhile, former Blue Alan Lee says his popularity with Town supporters remains despite his move to Saturday's opponents Crystal Palace earlier in the season, but that he hopes to get on the scoresheet at the weekend: "They used to chant ‘Alan Lee, goal' to the tune of Spandau Ballet's Gold and it always used to put a smile on my face.
"They were absolutely brilliant towards me. When I left I had lots of fantastic mail. I'm still living in the Essex area and people come up to me and thank me for what I did for Ipswich - most say they wish I hadn't left.
"Scoring a goal is the most special thing for me in the world and if I get one on Saturday I will go mental like I normally do! I would love nothing more than to score the winner and celebrate it appropriately."
