Jordan Rhodes and Richard Naylor were on the scoresheet on an evening when most of Town's loanees were in action.
Rhodes scored the first goal of his spell with Brentford late on as the Bees defeated Aldershot 3-0 at Griffin Park.
Naylor skippered the Whites in their home game against Southend and netted his first goal for his hometown club in the 11th minute, five minutes after one-time Town trialist Rui Marques had put the Yorkshire side in front.
Striker Billy Clarke failed to replicate his weekend hat-trick as his current loan side Northampton lost 2-1 to Colchester, one of his previous temporary clubs.
Chris Casement was in the Wycombe team which drew 0-0 at Macclesfield and Jaime Peters was an unused sub as Gillingham lost 2-1 to Lincoln, while Kurt Robinson was in the Rushden and Diamonds side which drew 0-0 at Mansfield.
