Verheyen Available - Ipswich Town News

Club Brugge have made it clear that they would now accept a bid for midfielder Gert Verheyen. Town tried to sign the player back in October and went back for him later in the season. The Belgians rebuffed Town despite the player being keen on a move.

Now it seems they are ready to do business for Veheyen who has scored 14 goals this season. Their Club Secretary Jacques De Nolf said: "Things have changed. When Ipswich Town made a bid for Verheyen, that offer came at the worst possible time, as we were still in contention for the title. That’s different now. There haven’t been any offers so far, but we are willing to talk."

Town looked to Verheyen after failing to sign Hassan Kachloul from Southampton. With Kachloul now seeming keen to come to Town Verheyen might not be George Burley's first option. However, with Kachloul's cash demands reportedly well in excess of a level Town would offer there may still be a chance that Town would show summer interest in the 30-year-old Belgian.
