It was on-loan Town frontman Jordan Rhodes's strike partner Charlie McDonald's turn to grab a hat-trick this week as Brentford beat Chester 3-0 at Griffin Park. Rhodes created McDonald's first goal and won the penalty which led to his third.
Elsewhere, Jaime Peters made his first start for Gillingham as they lost 2-0 at home to Bradford, but was replaced after 55 minutes.
