U16s Lose as U18s Rest Ahead of Youth Cup - Ipswich Town News
Town's U16s lost 4-1 to Southampton on Saturday morning at Playford Road. The Blues U18s game against the same opposition was called off earlier in the week because of Monday's FA Youth Cup fifth round tie.
The U18s take on Watford at Portman Road (KO 7pm) having beaten Crystal Palace in an exciting encounter in round four. The winners play either Cardiff or Birmingham away in the sixth round, their fifth round tie having been postponed on Thursday.
Coincidentally, Town's youngsters faced Watford in last year's competition, the Blues winning a fourth round tie 3-1 at Portman Road.
