Sammy Morgan Appointed New Academy Manager - Ipswich Town News

Bryan Klug has promoted Sammy Morgan to the post of Academy Manager, from Head of Education. Klug first brought Morgan to the club in 2004 who was also a former Academy Director at Norwich.

Sammy replaces the departing Tony Humes from the role and is relishing his new position: "I am obviously delighted to have been offered the position of Academy Manager at Ipswich Town and I'm looking forward to the challenge of pushing the Club forward at youth level," he told the club site.

"Ipswich Town has a very good reputation in terms of developing young players and my challenge is to make sure that continues.

"I'd also like to take this opportunity to pass on my best wishes for the future to Tony Humes, who is a good friend of mine."

Bryan Klug thought the decision was an easy one: "Sammy was the obvious choice for the position.

"He is vastly experienced in the development of young footballers and has a wealth of knowledge of the game in general. He is the right man to take Ipswich Town's Academy forward."
