No Scunthorpe Move Yet for Trotter - Ipswich Town News

Scunthorpe boss Nigel Adkins says his club could sign Town midfielder Liam Trotter on loan later on in the season. Trotter spent time with the Iron last week having impressed the League One side when playing against them for previous loan side Grimsby earlier in the season .

Trotter returned to Town and played for the reserves in Monday's reserves victory over Colchester and had been expected to move to the Lincolnshire club later this week.

However, Adkins says he is looking at the 20-year-old further along the line: "He did all-right [during his trial], but there is no rush to do anything.

"He cannot play in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy and our team for Saturday is sorted. Therefore there is no immediate need to be looking to do anything.

"I do have a concern about the number of players we have in the building for a period coming up where we are going to be playing a game every three days."

Trotter, a member of Town's 2005 FA Youth Cup-winning side, is out of contract with the Blues until the end of the season.
