Rhodes Nets Sixth Goal for Brentford - Ipswich Town News

Striker Jordan Rhodes scored the sixth goal of his loan spell with Brentford as the top-of-the-table Bees defeated his former loan club Rochdale 2-1 at Spotland. Elsewhere, Jaime Peters has decided against continuing his loan period with Gillingham.

Rhodes, who has extended his spell with Brentford until late April, headed home in the ninth minute of his eighth game for the League Two leaders. Earlier in the season, the 19-year-old scored two goals in five games for Rochdale.

Also on the scoresheet was young left-back Kurt Robinson, who netted his first senior goal in Rushden and Diamonds' 9-0 away victory at crisis club Weymouth, who fielded a very young side due to a number of senior players leaving because of the Terras' ongoing financial problems. The scoreline was a club record for Rushden.

Billy Clarke again failed to score for Northampton as the Cobblers lost 2-0 at home to Walsall. Clarke hasn't hit the net since grabbing a hat-trick on his debut for Northampton and was replaced in the 68th minute of his fifth game for the League One club.

Jai Reason played the full 90 minutes for Cambridge United as they won 2-0 at Lewes, the midfielder again receiving rave reviews for his performance in only his second senior game.

Dan Harding was left out of the Reading 16 as they lost 2-0 at home to Bristol City, while Chris Casement and Wycombe are in action against Rotherham in a live Sky game on Monday evening.

Jaime Peters has decided not to extend his loan with Gillingham after making only one start and two sub appearances for the Gills in his first month.

Town midfielder Liam Trotter joins Scunthorpe on loan later this week.
