Supple Move Hits Snag - Ipswich Town News
Keeper Shane Supple's loan move to Grimsby has hit a snag but should still go through by the end of the week. The Mariners had hoped to have the Irish U21 international at Blundell Park today ahead of training on Friday and Saturday's game at Rochdale.
A statement from the League Two strugglers says the delay is at Town's end: "It was hoped that the 21-year-old stopper would be at Blundell Park today and training with the Mariners tomorrow, but there has been a last minute hitch at the Suffolk club and the move has now been put on hold.
"The player would have to sign by 12 noon on Saturday to be eligible to play against Rochdale.â€Â
Town look certain to bring in another keeper on loan as cover during Supple's spell with the Mariners and it may be a problem in securing another glovesman â€" probably a senior player in the mould of previous signings Nick Colgan and Mike Pollitt â€" which has held up Supple's move.
