Thatcher a Doubt for Preston - Ipswich Town News

Left-back Ben Thatcher is a doubt ahead of Saturday's trip to Preston after sustaining a foot injury in last week's 3-1 win at QPR and aggravating it in training. The Blues are already without Danny Haynes (hamstring) and Iván Campo (calf).

Physio Matt Byard told the club site: "Ben felt it at QPR and then aggravated his foot in training on Tuesday.

"We will see how he is on Friday and take it from there, but it could be that a decision will not be made until Saturday morning."

If Thatcher misses out, David Wright is likely to move to the left-back role with Moritz Volz coming in on the right.

Haynes is set to return to training on Monday, while Campo is still not ready to get back into first team action after his torn calf muscle.

Assistant manager John Gorman has been away from Playford Road this week taking care of a private matter, but will taking his usual role on the bench at Deepdale.
