Upson Continues Southend Trial - Ipswich Town News

Midfielder Ed Upson played another trial game for Southend's reserves yesterday as he looks to win a deal with the Essex side. Upson, the scorer of the winning goal in the 2005 FA Youth Cup, is out of contract with Town at the end of the season and is unlikely to be offered new terms.

The 19-year-old was in the Shrimpers side which lost 3-0 at Colchester, alongside a number of other trialists, including Norwich's Robert Eagle, who was a schoolboy with Town's academy.

One of Colchester's goals was scored by Jordan Pavett, another former Town schoolboy.

Upson has now played three games for Southend after joining them on trial at the end of January.
