Casement in Northern Irish U21 Squad - Ipswich Town News

Defender Chris Casement has been named in the Northern Ireland U21 squad for their friendly against Ukraine at Shamrock Park, Portadown on Tuesday, 31st March. Casement, who extended his loan with Wycombe into a third month yesterday, has previously won 13 U21 caps, scoring one goal.

The 21-year-old could be up against fellow Town loanee Jordan Rhodes in a top of the table League Two clash on Saturday when second-placed Wycombe take on leaders Brentford.

Casement was a regular starter with the Chairboys until the last couple of games, but more recently has been left out of the XI.

Rhodes has scored six goals in 12 games for the Bees, although is without a goal in the last four.

Meanwhile, Town's two new Northern Irish academy recruits both won U16 caps last week as their side played in the Internationaal Vierlandentornooi voor Juniores in Belgium.

Striker or midfielder Josh Carson and defender Rory McKeown will join Town's youth set-up as full-time scholars in the summer.

The Northern Irish youngsters lost 2-0 to Ukraine, drew 2-2 with Belgium and beat Slovakia 1-0 to finish second behind the hosts.
