Watford boss Brendan Rodgers has confirmed his side's interest in Town midfielder Veliche Shumulikoski and says the Blues want one of his players as part of a potential loan swap deal.
Earlier today, the Macedonian international revealed that the Blues had blocked a loan move to Preston North End and confirmed links with QPR.
Rodgers says a deal could happen next week: "He is a Macedonian international. Ipswich are maybe looking to do something with one of our players and he was one of the players we were looking at there.
"He is a defensive midfielder who can pass the ball. He is an international and a good size, so he would be one of the players we are looking at.â€Â
Before Christmas Watford defender Adrian Mariappa was reported to be interesting Town, while in January TWTD revealed that head of football development Bryan Klug was on a scouting mission at the Watford-Scunthorpe FA Cup tie.
Central defender or right-back Mariappa is believed to have been watched by Town and Crystal Palace. The 22-year-old, who came through Watford's youth set-up, has been a regular in the Hornets' side this season.
The 5ft 11in tall Harrow-born defender is out of contract at the end of the season.
