Town Sign Pablo Couñago - Ipswich Town News
David Sheepshanks today has confirmed that Town have completed the signing of Celta Vigo striker Pablo Couñago. Pablo will join Town on 1st July, when the season will have ended in Spain. He has signed a four year contract.
We first heard of the story last week, saying that Couñago scored two goals for the Spanish U21s when they beat England's U21s 4-0 back in February, a game that George Burley attended.
He is said to prefer to play in the centre of the attack, although he has also been known to play on the left-hand side. He is said to be an opportunist who is always looking to create openings.
Reports in the Spanish press have suggested he is unhappy at his present club as he feels he is not playing enough first team football. Previously he was with Recreativo and Numancia.
