Jim Pleased With Gio - Ipswich Town News

Boss Jim Magilton praised home debut goalscorer Giovani Dos Santos after the 1-1 draw with Burnley. The Town manager fears that Argentinian signing Luciano Civelli could be out for a while with a serious knee injury.

Magilton says Dos Santos can create something from nothing: "When he lands on the ball you think something is going to happen. We haven't had that sort of player this season. It was a good finish.

"He has that ability. You don't come from Barcelona and sign for Tottenham without having ability.

"He drifted in and out of the game which comes with lacking a little match fitness but we were pleased with him.

"We don't know where that point is going to take us. The Championship this year has been that sort of league. We will need our point. We've got to win on Saturday now."

The Blues boss says the players are still positive: "There's a feeling in the camp. They are showing a great determination to get results."

Magilton was pleased with the way the supporters backed his team: "The fans were great again tonight. When we went a goal down they rose as one and got right behind the players and they applauded the players off and I think that shows they were happy with the commitment and performance."

The Town manager says the seriousness of Luciano Civelli's injury will be known tomorrow: "It looks like his knee and it's a real blow for the lad and us because he is getting better with every game. He has gone to hospital and we will know more on Wednesday."

Burnley boss Owen Coyle felt his side should have gone on to win the game after going in front: "It may turn out to be an important point, but it's a slight disappointment after going in front that we never got the three points.

"I do think it was a fantastic game. I think any neutral would say it was two teams trying to play the game the right way."
