Eadie for Town!!! - Ipswich Town News

Reports this afternoon suggest that Town may have made an enquiry about former Norwich City midfielder Darren Eadie. 25-year-old Eadie is likely to cost Town around the same £3 million mark that Leicester paid for him in December 1999.

Eadie was always a one of the least popular Norwich players amongst Town fans during his six year spell at Carrow Road. However, it seems that Eadie at least has a soft spot for his old sparring partners. Speaking in March Eadie said: "I probably shouldn't say this as an ex-Norwich City player, I've been particularly impressed with Ipswich this season. They've been unbelievable really. I actually thought they would do OK at the start of the season. I didn't think they would get relegated... but I certainly didn't expect them to still be riding on the crest of a wave at this stage."

With George Burley on holiday this week and then having his knee operation next it is unlikely that any deal would be done immediately. Peter Taylor is reported to need to sell to buy and with a dramatic collapse in form during the second half of the season Eadie might be a player he feels he can cash in on.

The question is, can we forgive him his terrible past?
