Dos Santos Off to Mexico Despite Injury - Ipswich Town News

Loanee Giovani Dos Santos will have to join up with the Mexico squad this week despite picking up a groin injury during Town's 0-0 draw with Watford. Mexico's doctor wants to assess the striker's injury before ruling him out of next week's World Cup qualifiers.

The Mexicans face Costa Rica at home on March 28th and then travel to Honduras on April 1st.

Dos Santos is a one of seven Town players with international squads over the next 10 days. Skipper Gareth McAuley is with Northern Ireland for their games against Poland on Saturday, 28th March and Slovenia on Wednesday, 1st April, both at Windsor Park.

Central defender Alex Bruce is in the Republic of Ireland squad for their gamees with Bulgaria at Croke Park on March 28th and in Bari against Italy on April 1st.

Out-of-favour midfielder Veliche Shumulikoski is in the Macedonia squad for their World Cup qualifier against Holland in Amsterdam on April 1st.

Owen Garvan is in the Irish U21 squad for their friendly against Spain on March 27th and an U21 European Championship 2011 qualifier with Turkey on March 31st, both on home soil.

Defender Chris Casement, currently on loan at Wycombe, has been named in the Northern Ireland U21 squad for their friendly against Ukraine at Shamrock Park, Portadown on Tuesday, 31st March.

Academy striker Ronan Murray will be away with the Republic of Ireland U19s for the first time. Murray has previously been capped at U16 and U18 levels.

The frontman will be with the squad for friendlies on March 29th and April 2nd.
