Eadie Link Denied - Ipswich Town News

Town boss George Burley has denied that he is interested in ex-Norwich star Darren Eadie. Yesterday reports, apparently eminating in Norwich, suggested that the Leicester midfielder was the subject of an enquiry by Town. However, this seems not to be the case.

The Town manager said: "We have not made any approach for Darren Eadie and he is not someone we are looking at."

Town's Academy U17s picked up the FA Premier Academy play-off final title when they kept Newcastle down to two goals last night at St James' Park. The Town lads were ahead 5-0 from the first leg. It ends a fine season for the U17s many of whom were also in the FA Youth Cup side which reached the semi-finals.

Last night's side: Kelly, Beevers, Richards, Bonwick, Chaffey, Westlake, Bloomfield, Ambrose, Bent, Burton and Dickinson. Subs used Robinson, Okay and Bowditch.

The Irish press is once again linking Mark Kennedy with a £1.5 million move to Town. This story has been around for a while and Kennedy has already pledged himself to Manchester City on one occasion since their relegation. However, the change of manager might persuade him to make a move.

As for a move to Town, we are in need of a left-sided attacking midfielder, Reuser is primarily a right-sided player but has done a fine job on the left in the latter stages of the season. Despite this we're not convinced that Kennedy would be the kind of player that George Burley would seek to bring in.
