Garvan First Into International Action - Ipswich Town News

Midfielder Owen Garvan will be the first Town player away on international duty to get into action this evening when the Irish U21s face Spain in a friendly in Waterford (Sky Sports Three, 7.30pm). Garvan has been named in the starting line-up and will win his ninth cap.

On Saturday, Gareth McAuley is expected to be in action for Northern Ireland in their World Cup qualifier against Poland at Windsor Park (Sky Sports One, 5pm).

Alex Bruce is with the Republic of Ireland squad ahead of their World Cup qualifier against Bulgaria at Croke Park, but is likely to be amongst the subs (Sky Sports One, 7.30pm).

Veliche Shumulikoski's Macedonia aren't in action until Wednesday, Chris Casement's Northern Irish U21s are at home to Ukraine on Tuesday and Giovani Dos Santos could face Honduras with Mexico on Wednesday if he's fit enough.

Academy striker Ronan Murray is with the Republic of Ireland U19 squad which faces Slovakia in friendlies in Bratislava on Tuesday and Thursday of next week.
