Volz Back in Full Training - Ipswich Town News

Full-back Moritz Volz is back in full training and could come into contention for Saturday's game at Sheffield United. The loanee from Fulham recently underwent surgery to sort out his groin problem.

Physio Matt Byard told the club site: "Moritz's recovery has gone well and he has been back in full training this week.

"He will train again on Thursday and Friday and, if there is no reaction, then it would be down to the manager's decision on whether he travels to Sheffield United or not."

Volz himself told his own Volzy.com site that he is delighted with the speed of his recovery: "I made good progress with my training last week and got to a point where I was even working with the ball, which is amazing given that it was only a week before I was having surgery.

"But all credit for that goes to the doctor in Munich who has refined her technique to allow such quick comeback times - and that's why she's getting sports people from all over the world going to her now.

"I [have] continued to build on last week's successful work and had my first full session with team, so I'm now hoping I can carry that through for the rest of the week without any bad reactions, which should mean I'm in contention for selection for the squad from now on. "

Meanwhile, Leyton Orient have confirmed that Town midfielder Ed Upson will play for their reserves in this afternoon's game against Northampton at Brisbane Road.

Upson joined Geraint Williams's club on trial yesterday.
