Lambe Confirms Contract Offer - Ipswich Town News
Academy midfielder Reggie Lambe has confirmed that Town have offered him a professional contract, as first revealed by TWTD on Sunday. Lambe says the length of the deal is still under discussion.
The Bermudian international is delighted to have received the offer: "I've just had a brilliant season and to be offered a professional contract is a dream come true for me.
"By turning professional my life will change and football will become a lot more serious now. I know I've got to start eating the right food and prepare for games properly. We're still negotiating the terms of my contract but it will at least be for one year."
Lambe says his game has improved a great deal in time with Town: "I've spent two years at the academy and my game has come on so much in that time.
"In my first year at the club I struggled, especially in terms of the game's strength and speed, but I've improved so much and I can definitely see myself playing for their first team.â€Â
Capped nine times by his country already, scoring all four of his international goals in a Digicel Cup game against St Martin in September last year, the 18-year-old says he is keen to play for Bermuda's U23s in a series of games against the Bermuda Hogges, who are in the United Soccer Leagues Second Division (third tier of US football).
Defender or striker Jack Ainsley is the only other academy player to have been offered a professional contract. Ainsley has agreed a one-year deal with the Blues.
